I design electrolyzers for converting CO₂ into platform chemicals, combining bipolar
membranes and molecular catalysts to improve carbon utilisation. My work spans catalyst
environments, cell design, mechanistic studies, technoeconomic analysis and modelling.
I supervise research students, develop grant applications and lead collaborations through
the UKRI Centre for Circular Chemical Economy. I am also a co-founder of
CO2Volt, a spinout commercialising CO₂ electrolyzer
technology.

Postdoctoral Researcher
Department of Chemical System Engineering · Prof. Kazuhiro Takanabe
I led a subgroup investigating heterogeneous catalysis for the oxidative coupling of
methane to ethylene. Working with a team of students and researchers, I developed and
automated reactors and gas chromatography systems, and combined kinetic measurements with
simulations of catalytic networks.

DPhil Student and Postdoctoral Researcher
Department of Chemistry · Prof. Fraser A. Armstrong
I developed the “Electrochemical Leaf”: a cofactor-regeneration platform for selective
enzyme-catalysed synthesis using ferredoxin–NADP⁺ reductase immobilised in porous metal
oxide electrodes. This work led to a patent and formed the basis of subsequent DPhil
projects. I also developed enzyme–TiO₂ composites for light-driven dehalogenation.

I synthesised and characterised oxynitride materials for hydrogen production through solar
water splitting.
